We were so honored to be invited to Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) Adoption Celebration this past Friday, November 4th in Baton Rouge. It was held outside on the grounds shadowing our state’s capital. It was awesome to see so many wonderful adoptive families there! The event was to celebrate the 735 foster children who were adopted between October 1, 2015 and September 30, 2016. This record-breaking number of adoptions is the most Louisiana has ever had in one year.

Foster Friends was awarded the “Community Advocate Award” for our efforts and commitment in promoting adoption awareness and community support for children in need of permanent families. We appreciate the recognition, but it’s really not about us. Our main goal is to help the DCFS find loving, forever homes for these precious children! It is a pleasure working with the staff at DCFS Lafayette Region office, and we are just so grateful to help in any way we can.

It’s only through the generous donations that we are even able to provide blessings to foster children in Acadiana, so we want to thank all the volunteers and generous donors who have supported us in the past.
